Our Inspiration

The vision and story of community empowerment that drives the development of Kotla App.

The Story of Kotla Arab Ali Khan

Kotla Arab Ali Khan, situated in the Gujrat District of Punjab, Pakistan, is a thriving town defined by strong community bonds, local enterprise, and a large diaspora of overseas residents. Like many cities and rural towns across Pakistan, local shopkeepers, merchants, and service providers form the economic backbone of the community, yet remained disconnected from modern e-commerce systems due to high commission fees, complex software, and language barriers.

"We asked ourselves: Why should a local merchant pay 20% to 30% commission to global platforms just to take delivery orders? Why can't local communities have a digital infrastructure that is free, secure, and built by the community, for the community?"

Bridging the Digital Divide

Kotla App was born out of a desire to build a sovereign digital economy for town districts. Our goal is to empower small family shops, local cafes, agricultural workers, and community service providers with the exact same tools that large corporations use, including:

Keeping Families Connected

A major driving force for Kotla App is supporting overseas Pakistanis. Millions of Pak diaspora send billions in remittances back home every year, yet had no direct way to purchase food, order medical prescriptions, book properties, or verify listings for their families in Pakistan. Kotla App provides a direct, transparent window for overseas accounts to manage transactions and support their home villages directly.

A Lasting Legacy: Haji Malik Muhammed Latif

Kotla App is born from the vision and wisdom of our late grandfather, Haji Malik Muhammed Latif. He believed deeply in the strength of community, the honor of local trade, and the potential of the people of Kotla Arab Ali Khan. It was his lifelong philosophy that true prosperity comes from lifting each other up and ensuring that no one is left behind. We carry his legacy forward by building this digital platform to connect our nation, support local merchants, and serve citizens completely for free.

The Digital HQ: Kotla Tower

Headquartered at the landmark Kotla Tower, Kotla App's volunteer engineers, data operators, and community organizers work side-by-side to realize a bold, unified vision: to bring everyone online. We believe that digital visibility is a fundamental right. By providing free training, physical setup support, and custom digital portals directly to every shopkeeper, farmer, and household, we are paving a unified pathway for the next generation of Pakistan's digital economy.

A National Platform for All of Pakistan

The Kotla App Ecosystem is a National, Pakistan localized digital platform built for the whole of Pakistan and started from the community of Kotla Arab Ali Khan by the vision of Babar Ali Khan (from Kotla Arab Ali Khan, Gujrat, Punjab, Pakistan). By offering multi-level location-based district discovery, we connect free local economic hubs in every province, district, city, village, and mohalla from Karachi to Gilgit-Baltistan.
